photo of old work. just realised that I never uploaded a finished version of [link]
unfortunately this photo is really bad and you can't see all the stupid stippling that I put hours into for the background. Also the paper is unfortunately crap (Ecole Ingres) and couldn't handle any ink washing so it's really buckled.
One day I shall take a better photo.. or add MORE stippling and then take a better photo >_>;;

Featuring the female curiosities of Asia: the pennangalan and futa-kuchi-onna.

The Penanggalan or `Hantu Penanggal` is a peculiar variation of the vampire. A pennangalan is always female. By day, it appears human, but by night, its head and internal organs separate from the body and fly in search of victims.
([link])

A futa-kuchi-onna is often considered to be a woman who lets her stepchild die of starvation while keeping her own offspring well fed; presumably the spirit of the neglected child lodges itself in its stepmother's body to take revenge. ([link])

Fun fact: Both have been in Hellboy! I love Mike Mignola, yes I do.

Ooh, I didn't know that! Thanks!

I wonder if there's a variant for every country in SEA. Lessee, thailand, myanmar, malaysia, indonesia. We have run out of countries haven't we.. @_@
(Singapore doesn't count, too modern, plus neighbours would complain about the vinegar daily to the authorities until Ms Krasue flees from the nagging. This is a veritable nation of complainers, national hobby I must declare)

Also there are absolutely no Thai movies shown here except for the ones about muay thai... Ms Krasue has been hiding from me!

Thai films rarely make it outside the country upon the whole, I think. :XD:
